I know there are so many topics about this issue and i checked most of them but i could not find a solution.

I get SQL server 2005 error during installation of winCC flexible 2008 on my Win7-x64 computer.

During installation of SQL server 2005 i get 

WoW64 error

"SQL Server 2005 Setup cannot continue because the installation package could not be opened. The installation package has a missing file, or you are running a 32-bit only Setup program on a 64-bit computer. To continue, verify the SQL Server 2005 package you are running is suported on WOW64. If you are certain that you are running a supported SQL Server 2005 packages, and you continue to see this message, contact the application vendor."

Then when i click OK, i get

MSI error

"The following program could not be installed: Microsoft SQL server 2005 express edition SP2 setup cannot complete the installation.

159

Unknown MSI error code:159"

I googled for MSI error code 159 but i could not find anything.

I tried lots of methods and i could not get any solution. I hope you guys have some idea how to handle it.

Hi All:

I have the same problem about the SQL 2005 error 159. The problem is becasue I need to install the sinumerik Package, that is only posible to install on the Wincc SP2 (For Xp). But the proyect I need to open is an SP3.

So the way is intall WinCC 2008, SP1, SP2, Sinumerik package, and the SP3.

But during the installation in the very first moment I have this problem. I tried with compatibiliy options but i cant....

Some knows how to Intall on a Windows 7 64bit?
