S7-1200 CPU Maintenance LED Continusly ON

S120 communicating with S7 1200 Through Profinet. After Downloading the program to plc, Maintenance LED of PLC Conitusly ON. RUN LED Also Conitusly ON and drive is working fine and comunicating with plc all operations are OK. The ONLY issue is why the Maintenance LED on?, In cpu diagnostics showing ?? marks on S120 GSD file. and cpu firmware is slao upto date. regards, v. Dhinagaran.

KIRAN_DABHI Posts: 60 Rating: (8)	THIS ERROR ARISES BECAUSE YOUR CPU PART NAME AND VERSION MAY BE LATEST AND IN YOUR TIA PORTAL THAT VERSION NOT AVAILABLE.SO UPDATE YOUR HARDWARE UPDATES IN TIA SOFTWARE.THEN INDENTIFY YOUR CPU BY UNSPECIFY CPU.THEN FURTHER DOWNLOAD HARDWARE. THIS WILL WORK .TRY IT.IF MORE PROBLEM REVET IT.

Do a full software rebuild (right click on CPU, compile>rebuild all blocks). Then download to the CPU. My maintenance LED came on after we had a loose connection to an IO module. cheers.

0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 16325 Rating: (2520)	In multiplexed analog inputs, when the multiplexor isn't pointing at an input, it kind of floats around a bit, floating more when it has not reference - like when an unused input is not jumpered out and wired to DC common (M usually). What you see in those cases when connecting an ANALOG meter (like a Simpson 260 (very old tech, but shows problems most digital meters cannot), is the analog input value starts out high, and quickly runs to 0 --- as the meter shorts out the inputs with the large input impedance.
