When replacing a device: When replacing a CPU (e.g. 6ES7511-1AK01-0AB) with a compatible successor type (e.g. 6ES7511-1AK02-0AB0), the TIA Portal project does not need to be changed; upgrade of the TIA Portal project is not required. For us problem is that we experience some nasty crashes with 2.1, PLC then becomes fully unaccessible form TIA Portal v14 sp1, on all computers. Siemens support advised fw upgrade, but we were unsure whether we need v15. I'm not sure whether we'll buy v15, but at least we can update to update 6 with this version. Hopefully this should solve the problem, which is really sporadic and we can't trigger it to check if it's been solved.

The only thing is, that you can´t project the V2.5. but it also works with a projected FW <=2.1 regards,
