Hello all,

I have different sensor types to connect to several Analog Input modules (AI 8xU/I/RTD/TC ST, 6ES7531-7KF00-0AB0).

I intend to connect 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire sensorsto the same Analog Input Module but I see in TIA portal that I have to configure only one mode for the whole module.

First Question: How can I configure the module in TIA Portal so that it supports the three type of sensors (2,3 and 4 wire)? (Tia Portal offers either 2-wire or 4-wire configuration but for the whole module, not per input).

Second Question: why is it necessary, from the point of view of electronics, to configure this? I mean, I understand that what changes is the way I supply 24V to the transmitter, but this is external to the module itself, which should be able to receive 4-20 mA either way.

What types of sensors do you want to connect? When connecting RTD sensors, only 4 channels are available.
