about s7 1200 cpu to cpu communication

kosta Posts: 50 Rating: (4)	to send data to other plc: 1. take TSEND_C from instruction tree on the right at TIA portal and place it at Main OB of 1. plc ! do not try to place it into FB or some other place. 2. select second plc and place TRCV_C blok from instruction tree 3. right click TSEND_C of first plcand bring properties up 4. pick second plc as 'partner', set connection id to 1, check 'establish active connection' for sending plc 5. make new DBs for 'connection data' .. those blocks will hold data that you are enttering right now 6. make DB dat will hold your data, you want to send, place that DB on both plcs 7. set 'DATA' input of both T blocks to piont DB you made for data in 6th step. 8. for receiving block set EN_R and CONT inputs to true 9. for TSEND_C make *req* tag and *cont* tag 10. to establish connection set your cont tag to true .. done signal at TSEND_C will go up for one cycle 11. to actualy send data set *req* tag.. when done TSEND_C will set done signal for one cycle 12. reset req tag until you need to send data again if you need to send some data back from second plc to the first: 1. place TSEND_C at main of second plc and TRCV_C at main of first plc 2. parametrise blocks again but set connection id to 2 now .. just in case .. you should not do: - if you want to erase TSEND_C for example and place it at some other network ..do not erase and place on other network from instrustion tree on the right! It will make new TSEND_C_1 in your project. You will see same TSEND_C in program but it will be actualy TSEND_C_1.. that way you will probably get in trouble when compilingproject. So do it like this:be sure to erase it from project tree at left side of tia portal and erase TSEND_C_DB also .. same goes for TRCV_C block. after erasing all place new block from instrustion tree on the right.It seams that this is most safe way to do it. - Also if you like to use groups for program blocks do not move your TSEND_C or TRV_C to a group ..mine TIA portal couldnt compile it after that anymore.. had to erase and write it again. Stuff that I am writing here is just my expirience.. maybe some of these issues are just my unlucky TIA instalation or something .. If you expirience same things pls confirm it by posting here .. or post that it works fine regards

kosta Posts: 50 Rating: (4)	HI Pegaia, Somewhere in manual it says that you need to use TSEND_C and TRCV_C in Main OB .. so i am just taking safe side here .. its [S7-1200 System Manual Update to edition 05/2009] Maybe it is changed .. i dont know.. regards

Denilson Pegaia Diamond Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 4434 Rating: (1487)	Hi, in the refired manual stays: " Usage of the TCON, TSEND, TRCV, TSEND_C and TRCV_C instructions Use the TCON, TSEND, TRCV, TSEND_C and TRCV_C instructions only in the program cycle OB (OB 1)." I think that meansthat you must call from a cycle OB (like OB1), however, not necessarilly direct in OB1.

Once you've established the connection by turning on the bits tied to the CONT input on the sender TSEND_C and the receiver TRCV_C, you'll need to turn on REQ for the TSEND_C and then EN_R for the TRCV_C and then you should see the data in whatever area you have assigned to DATA for the TRCV_C on the receiver.
