Simocode - Delta Contactor not picking up in Star-Delta Configuration

Sudheendra Posts: 62 Rating: (1)	Hi, I am using a PRO-V for Star-delta starter application. I have configured all the parameters and Outputs as in the mannual (which says which QE contactor is for which output) etc., but I am not switching on the 3 phase power in the feeder. I am just taking a Control circuit trial since the motor is a 130kW huge motor. When I give the command, the Star and Main (Network) Contactor turn ON at the beginning but the change-over to Delta Contactor after the time (Max Star time) is not happening. The Star Contactor turns off and the main contactor stays ON but Delta does not turn on. These are the few configuration points that I have done. 1. I have all the 3 outputs on the Basic Unit of Simocode. 2. I have not switched on the 3 phase power. 3. Monitoring - Earth fault - Disabled 4. BU Output 1 is connected to main contactor, hence I have connected it to QE3 5. BU Output 2 is connected to Delta contactor, hence I have connected it to QE2 6. BU Output 3 is connected to Star contactor, hence I have connected it to QE1. 7. Feed back monitoring is given from the main contactor and working fine. I notice in Graphics that the Block is not at all giving the output from QE2. Why? Please let me know what I am missing out. Thanks, Sudheendra

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	Hello Sudheendra, SIMOCODEpro is an intelligent motor control system. It expects a Feedback ON=false after turning off the Star-Contactor. After Feedback On= False it will turn on the Delta contactor. This monitoring is implemented to avoid a short circuit on your system when the Start contactor does not switch off. In your case (Feedback On is linked to the main contactor) SIMOCODEpro does not get an OFF state. That’s why the Delta contactor is not activated. I guess you also have set the Execution time to 0, else you should get a fault on SIMOCODEpro. My recommendation for your Control circuit trial: Rewire "Feedback On" to "Status – motor current flowing" Set "Execution time" back to default (1.0s) activate Test Position Feedback (TPF) TPF is special for the trial without 3phase power. SIMOCODEpro will operate like with 3phase power (motor current flowing) but expects no real current flow. best regards LesPaul
