I have  CPU 1516F and OPC UA Server on a PC. Is it possible to make the PLC a client of the UPC UA?

A S7-1500 CPU can only act as a OPC UA server.

This is shown in the Technical data of the repsective CPUs; see the screenshot below.

An interesting alternative is the OPC UA client  (in C#/.NET) proposed by Siemens, based on the OPC UA libraries from OPC Foundation. It would allow a configured PC to connect to a number of S7-1500 OPC UA servers over TCP/IP to collect the required data.

in the next Version of TIA Portal V15 (I think perhaps End of this year) there will be a possibility to use the S71500 for OPC UA Client.
