Protool SP3 unable to launch

Automation_Systems Posts: 58 Rating: (0)	Hi Everybody I hope you can help me Im trying to install Protool Pro CS SP3 on Windows XP Pro with Step7 v5.4 SP3 When i install the option Integration Step7, the installation wizard show me the message "Unable to launch service pack 3" and only install V6.0. But when i dont add the integration Step7 option i can perform the installation with the v6.0 SP3 but i can see my projects with protool integrated in Step7 What can i do?? My other has problems installing Protool V6.0 SP3, What itys the matter with it?? Thanks a lot

Denmark Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Umencho, I have had the same problem, and it was not solved by uninstaling XP SP3 or by reinstalling the PC with a brand new Windows XP SP2 ... It was solved by reinstalling Step 7 V5.4 with it´s SP 3.1 - and nothing more. I think that the problems occurs from the upgrade packs for Step 7 SP4 & SP5. Try to reinstall Step 7 without the additional upgrades, and then install Protool. After that you can install the Step 7 upgrades. Richard.

master_reset 29a Posts: 6 Rating: (11)	OK Guys, I tried to install ProTool V6.0 SP3 on following OS: XP Prof. SP 2: Error occured, XP Prof. SP 3: Error occured, XP Prof. SP3 with downgraded my Step 7 to V5.4 without SP: Error occured XP Prof. SP3 with Step7 V5.4 SP 3: Error occured XP Prof. SP3 with Step7 V5.x try to install ProTool V6.0 SP2: Installation without any Problems It even opens the projekt versions V6.0 SP3 who can confirm this? greetz Michael

Do you copy the setup of ProTool on the localharddisk and then you installfrom local harddisk? When these everything not help, can you post a screenshot of the error message? Tweety

master_reset 29a Posts: 6 Rating: (11)	Hi Tweety Do you tried to install ProTool V6.0 SP3 onXP SP2? --> Yes, i got the same Error at the Start of Installation of SP3 Do you have a clear XP SP2? --> Yes, i formated the hole system and installed a brand new XP prof SP2 and updated it to SP3 Do you install with administrator rights and deactivated virus scanner? --> I got Adminrights and uninstalled the whole Scanner during Installationprocess. Do you copy the setup of ProTool on the localharddisk and then you installfrom local harddisk? ---> Yes, physically on my Desktop When these everything not help, can you post a screenshot of the error message? --> No, i have to install the other Siemens - Software (Step7, WinCC flex, TIA Portal ...) but the error message says "Unable to launch Service pack 3" at the beginning of installing the ServicePack3. Do you know, if the Installation write any kind of logfile like WinCC does? greetz Michael

master_reset 29a Posts: 6 Rating: (11)	OK, after reading different other threads here and in the world i think i found the solution: I had to copy the Installationfiles direkt under C: not on my desktop (the path was too deep) an the Installation completed successfully. Tested ProTool V6.0 SP3 on XP prof. SP3: Integrated in Step7: --> WORKS Without Integration: --> WORKS THX to Zenta greetz @ All Michael
