ashishm Posts: 186 Rating: (4)	Dear Sir, In EM 235 with L+ and M there is third terminal for ground. When I provide earthing on that terminal my analog values start fluctuating but when I remove it than it become stable. So kindly provide me the clear Idea regarding use of that terminal and wether we have to provide earthing at that terminal or not?

Marcjan Diamond Member Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 3/31/2025 Posts: 5697 Rating: (716)	Hello, If you have separate powersupply for i.e. analog sensors and your CPU/EM 253, you can create a groundloop by connecting the earth terminal, if your signals are stable without this earth connected, there is no problem to not connect it. Better is to use one powersupply for both CPU/EM and the sensors in the field. Make sure that the cable shield is connected to ground atleast at 1 end off the cable. Connecting both sides can cause the same trouble. Regards
