You will have a lot of duplicate effort by having the 2 separate programs for HMI and PLC. No integration at all. It is very time consuming but it does work. In your s7-1200 PLC, for every single tag you create that is read by the HMI, you need to have the exact absolute address to recreate that same tag in WinCC Flex. It works. If you have a DB in the s7-1200, it must be configured as absolute addressing rather than symbolic access if your HMI must access it. In the end, it works great, but you end up having a lot of work to keep everything working smoothly. With V13, with the proper WinCC upgrade, you may be able to integrate your WinCC Flex project and skip a lot of the manual work and have portal handle it. If your HMI is supported by the latest version of WinCC V13, you may want to upgrade and try that. Well worth the cost.

In STEP 7 go to connections and add connection to your panel. You will have to enter IP-Address of your panel there. regards

For the MP377, configure the plc using s7-300/400 compatible driver. Add the ip address of you s7-1200. Use absolute addressing for any S7-1200 DB that the HMI needs to access. What exactly are you having trouble with?

0_Einstein Grandmaster Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16371 Rating: (2522)	For my MPx77 project using WinCC Flex SP2, I have the ip address for the plc set, the hmi ip address set, plc slot 1 rack 0, cyclic operation checked, s7-300/400 driver, and it just works like any other plc.
