S7-400, EXTF & INTF Fault LED's are blinking continuously..

There is CPU 414-2 which is showing both the EXTF & INTF LED's blinking. No other LED is blinking on the cpu. I am unable to communicate with the CPU 414-2. Please suggest what could be done to communicate with the CPU 414-2 in the EXTF & INTF fault condition ??

Georgio Posts: 245 Rating: (14)	Hi. Please check the status of RUN and STOP LEDs. If you are in STOP take care about OB8x to switch your CPU to RUN mode even EXT and INT fault exist. To find out why these two LEDs are on, please check diagnostic buffer. For information regarding diagnostic buffer, please check : https://www.automation.siemens.com/tf/WW/en/Posts/93471 If you solve RUN/STOP LEDs you can deal with communication and other things.. Hello, There are some point to be checked before further steps forward: Please, first of all check if your current installation complies with the rules and recommendation in THIS manual ! Check the grounding and EMC issues really serious. Visually check the Rack that accommodates the CPU . Test the CPU in a set-up available in a shop in working rack with all necessary components available. Put the CPU in STOP(if possible due to process requirement), power cycle and observe the behavior.If CPU is still in STOP,try to connect and check if possible to read the buffer.Next step,put the CPU in RUN and observe the behavior. If the mentioned steps don't help, contact your local SIEMENS representative to ask for supports.(Contacts Worldwide) I hope this helps, Hamid Hosseini
