I am using the below VB script to read from SQL table:

I have attached this script to the "output" property of an I/O Field

I also set the font of the I/O Field using the tagname "String02"

But it displays the result in variable String02 and not in my I/O Field

How can I display the result in the I/O box on screen during runtime please?

You need to assign the value to the OutputValue property of the IO field, which is missing in the code.

after writing the value to TAG, you can write the value to IO field

Item.OutputValue = lngValue

or you can attach the Tag directly to the Ouputvalue property of the IO field

What is the trigger for your script to run? if it is outputvalue change event, then after you assign the value to Tag, it will be triggered again once more time.
