comunication between S7-300 CPU 315-2DP with Siemens Protection Devices

hanhdn Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Dear My Friends! I have some difficult problems to comunicate between S7-300 CPU 315-2DP with Siemens Protection Devices such as 7SJ61, 7SJ62,... by Profibus-DP card. I have connected the hardware and the device also detected. But CPU S7-300 can not communicate with relay. i don't know why, please help me!!!!!!!

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 5/11/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi, I know the Protective Devices, those are from PTD (not from A&D), when the GSD-files are installed in STEP7 youcanchoose for several different manners to couple. I have never done this with this equipment but normally you have to do also something in the Protection Device. See also the document.... Attachment MV_Protective_Relay_Comparison.pdf (566 Downloads)

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/14/2026 Posts: 12481 Rating: (2722)	Hello hanhdn; Before any communication can happen between a DP-master and a Siemens protection relay, the Profibus interface, Profibus slaveaddressing and Standard Mapping selection must be setup on the relay, using DIGSI software. If this is a new installation, then a Siemens technician will need to use DIGSI to parametrize the relay functions; comms setup can be done at the same time. If this is for a modification, you will probably need to buy DIGSI and the programming cable required. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
