One of the Siemens engineers I work with occasionally mentioned the V70 servo drive as a possible replacement for the Mitsubishi J4's that we currently use in some of our simpler machines.  He told me that it has a PROFIBUS interface, which solves one of my big issues with the Mitsu's.

However, I cannot find any information about it other than a mention with respect to the SINUMERICK products.  Does this drive exist for purchase and how do I get manuals, configuration software etc.?

Thank you, I've seen bits and pieces of this and I'm familiar with the 1FL6 motors.

However, the manual far from complete and it looks like it can only be run with the 808 Advanced.

The PROFIBUS connection is undocumented as well as the telegram structure and I cannot find a GSD file for it.  I was told it uses telegram 105, but I can't confirm this.  The connectors are also non-standard for PROFIBUS.

Strange that they would have developed a drive for a specific controller with no other application.  I'd like to see if I can make this work with a S7 1200 and PROFIBUS card.
