I'm experiencing a very similar issue.  I cannot enter a constant value into the static value of a faceplate property.  Seems like it should be very simple... what am I missing?

I've gone through the links above with no luck.  Please help!

As long as your value is not directly linked to some inner property, you cannot.

Workaround: create internal tag with start value = your desired constant and assign the tag as your former constant input 

i'm in the same situation but i can't figure out how to solve the problem...

I created a faceplate and added a "job_id" property; this property is dynamic, but i want it static because in the interface of the faceplace i want to assign to it a constant number (the progressive number of occurences of faceplate 1,2,3,...)

is it possible?

use a textfield in the Faceplate and drag and drop the "Text" Property from the right side to the left side to properties. Then the Text Property will be used in the Interfaces as HMIPropertyObject and not as Tag. so you could get tot the Instance to Interfaces and here you could enter a static String.

Its quite easy.

 you say it's easy but evidently i am missing something...

- I add a textfield in the Faceplate,

- i drag the "text" property from LEFT to RIGHT (u wrote the contrary) and i call this new property "textID" for example

- in the instance of the faceplate of course i can assign to textID a static value (but it's only of string type!)

- inside the faceplate i cannot access to this textID property! i cannot use it on VBSccript or in any other way...it's completely unuseful.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi

There are some problem while you use internal property. It has many limitations. You will get option of that property only. If you use internal tag and give start value, you have to create different tags and you need to call them on same page because they don't have cyclic continuous property.

Instead of using any property or a internal tag, the best solution is to use a tag inside faceplate you can link this tag with the property where you need to give constant value and make it invisible by hiding it behind other objects or giving same colour as the background. 

 Murof, please can you make screen and show the difference between two methods. I can't find what you've described....
