Dear Siemens Support,

I'm having some issues trying to interface PLC UDT to a Faceplate.

I've been trying only using Optimized block access and benefitting from symbolic adressing, but it seems impossible if i want to create generic faceplates.

Attached you can see some pictures, from what I've been trying. 

When will it be possible to symbolic adress UDT's from faceplates, instead of creating HMI UDT's, which requires absolute adressing, meaning optimized block access and symbolic adressing is lost.

I'm using TIA Portal (V13 SP1 UPD3) and WinCC Advancced (V13 SP1 UPD3).

Another question: I've been trying to overcome this obstacle by using indirect adressing, but it seems i can't access UDT with index tags, it won't allow me.

you don't need a seperate HMI UDT. you can use the PLC UDT directly if you add it to the library first.

 It seems that you can do it, only if you have an integrated project. If you have PLC tags available from IPE (PLC Proxy device) this feature is not available. Am I right?
