Recently I bought the TIA WinCC Professional SP1 , just because of the C-scripts option , even though the HMI I was  configuring was a Comfort Panel . 

However , I can only use/see the VB scripts . Is there something else that needs to be set in order to enable the C script option ?

I Think you understand something wrong.

There are 4 WinCC Packages in TIa Portal.

WinCC Basic -> Only Basic Panels

WinCC comfort -> all Panels

WinCC Advanced -> All panels and Advanecd Runtime and IPCs

WinCC Professional -> the same as Advanced and WinCC Professional Runtime (Scada System)

So the Comfort Panel has nothing to to with WinCC Professional.

A Comfort Panel can only use VB Scripts.

C Scripts you can only use in WinCC Professional Runtime (Scada System).

So you cannot use C Script in a Comfort Panel.
