I' m using a S7-300 and a panel PC IPC477D with WinCC Runtime Advanced.

I created some alarm bits, splitted in 3 different alarm classes: High Alarm, Medium Alarm, and Low Alarm.

I would like to activate an output bit (a light or a buzzer) if one or more  alarm of the High alarm appears.

Example: If i have a temperature problem which is an alarm of the High alarm classes i want to activate a buzzer.

Is it possible to do this ? If not what is the easiest solution ?

I have an idea. Might be worth a try.

You will need another tag (the one you want to use to start the buzzer or light). Datatype could be BOOL.

• Open the "Global Screen and add an(other) "Alarm view" control.
• Klick on "Properties > General" and disable all alarm classes but the one "High Alarm" one.
• Klick on "Properties > Events" and add "SetBit" (for examle) to the "Activate"-Events.
• Choose your BOOL-tag as the parameter.
• Use your BOOL-tag to do something to start your buzzer or activate the light
  (for example: Go to the tag table and klick on your tag. Klick on "Properties > Events" and add some funktion to "Value change". You could call a script... )
• Reset the BOOL-Tag after you're done.

There is a small problem doing this:

On global screen you can't add an alarm view, but only an alarm window, which has no events.

If you add an alarm view to any page or to template, its appearance won't be triggered automatically by incoming event so "Activate"-Events won't be linked to alarm class .

I have different alarm classes, every different class must turn on an output connected with a lamp of a different color when an alarm is activated (e.g. red light = serious alarm, yellow light = secondary alarm and so on) .

In this way I must divide plc triggers on separate alarm words, when a alarm word is <>0 I turn on the corresponding signal light.

If my customer asks to move an alarm from a class to another I must change both address on PLC and address and class on HMI.

If I had a bit triggered by alarm class I could simply declare a different class for the alarm in HMI without moving it to a different alarm word: it would be an easier and errorproof way to work...
