Another question. How can I block the use of one panel when I use the other? Is there any way to do this without having to touch anything on the PLC?

have a solution but it´s a few years ago, perhaps there is a better solution now possible:

I called up a picture with i.e. Text Message "Blocked" from SPS. If you press on the other panel i.e. a button SPS will unlock / call up i.e. startscreen from the other panel...

you can only use the option SmartServer. When you look via vnc from one panel to another then you can use the coordinate HMI functionality of the Siemens VNC Server.

But if you have two Panel projects which are different then you can use the HMI http Communicatoin channel to get access to the Tags of one HMI from another one.

Or second Possibility is to use the one Panel as OPC Server and the other one as OPC Client. So you can also share a Tag to sychronize the operation like a Token.

But you have to use the project that only on the Panel that has the Token (Value in "global Tag") can use the Buttons and I/O Fields on Screen.

The only Chance without modification in PLC:

Use a selection switch to switch on the power for only one panel.

(Dark and dirty solution... )
