Hello pcs7 users

I make a new FB in pcs7 v8.1 by SCL. After that I want to make a faceplate for this FB in Wincc, but I have a problem. When I open faceplate designer in wincc, my block name exists there and I can choose it, but when I click

 “Generate “ in faceplate designer window the message “Overwrite existing file?” appears so in the bottom of this window, generating PDLs is “canceled” ( instead of Done) is shown and in Graphic designer the PDL files don’t exist. Finally I can’t make faceplate for this new block.

My block name is different from PCS7 balocks name.

Would you please help me?

well check the graphic designer to have the .pdl file of the same name, Please note that the faceplate shall be generated with @pg_xxxx_standard.pdl names.

the xx is the name that you have entered.

I have checked the graphic designer but the pdl file of the same name doesn’t exist there.

In pcs7 v8.1 the faceplate designer is in additional products and I had to install it after the complete installation of pcs7 separately. May my problem be concerned with it?

What is the name of the pdl that you wanted to insert, Check that same name exisit in the program folder.

if not then try creating the same and check the same.

In the block folder,

Please generate the Face plates, even if the warning is coming, Could be that .sav file are existing,

Did you by chance deleted the .pdl after and are regenerating the faceplate again.

How can I generate faceplates in block folder? Did you mean Right Click on block in block folder and set S7_m_c in Attributes?

Well yes you need to set the S7_m_C to the block and the in,out,inout interface in the block.

Check the documentation in the Start -> Programs -> Siemens Automation ->SIMATIC -> Documentation

check that you will know the steps.
