Hi! i have a problem :( When i loaded my program to plc(CPU1214C) it gave an error(No neighbour could be detected). I thought it gave that error as HMI is not connected and i connected HMI to PLC. The error is solved. But the problem is how to do online simulation! As i need to use profinet to connect PLC to PC but no connection to HMI. So it gives again error.

Sorry to ask if it is a stupid question but i wonder

Is there any multiplier to connect PC and HMI at the same to PLC time?

so you have a project with a plc and a HMI program in the same project right?

You should be hable to connect to the plc even if the HMI is not in the network. Just select the plc program and click on online button and follow the tia portal wizzard to stablish a direct connection. If you still cannot connect pls send a screenshot or more information so we can help you

There is also a simple solution to your problem since you only have 1 ethernet port in the plc and you have to share between PC and HMI. Use a switch, it is not that expensive and you always should have a connection point available at the instalation for programming purpuoes. I hate when I go to an instalation and have no connection point available to the plc network inside the cabinet

I have attached what i get when i run it online mode. U can see there it shows there is no connection to HMI  I think swich can solve my problem. Can u send me a link or a pic showing what kind of switch i can use?

Multiplier not required since you are only trying to communicate to plc and hmi. If you are using a tp comfort(hmi) or if you notice 2 port slot, you can connect using an ethernet straight cable form port 1 of the hmi going to plc then port 2 to the pc. Hope this will help.

Regarding the switch, you can use any switch... never had problems. If you use a router it may be a different case if you are using PROFINET IO (witch is not the case). Some more advanced routers will block data from PROFINET.

If you want to spend a little more money use Siemens industrial routers and switches, they are compatible with PROFINET and are prepared for DIN rail. Look for Siemens SCALANCE.

Only now I get your problem.... I though you were having problems going online with the plc...

Sorry, I normaly dont use WINCC and am not familiarized with WINCC simulation...

But once again, the switch will solve your problem I think

With saying online simulation i meant 'go online' section. I've marked with a red rectangular in the attached pic below. When i try to use this 'go online', it gives an error as it cannot see any HMI as i use my profinet cable to connect PLC to PC.

ok, i had thinking that you mean with sumlastion a simulated PLC or a simulated HMI.

But correct if you would go online to both physical devices you need the switch.
