Hi everybody! I am a newbie on S7-1500. Could I ask some question?

I have S7-1500 system with hardware: CPU 1516 3NP/DP; DI 32x24VDC HF; DQ 32x24VDC/0.5 ST;

AI 8xU/I/RTD/TC ST; AQ 4xU/I ST.

I need read signal from Encoder. I think I should use High speed counter for reading this signal.

But I haven't found how to configure and use High speed counter in my Hardware.

Everybody help me please.

I've found some information. It has 2 counters in module DI32x24VDC HF. But I don't know how to active and use these counters.

Could anybody help me!

Hello!

The HF module will count well if your program cycle time is short, when it gets longer it will lose signals. The only way to use the HF module as a counter is when you use an ET200MP or ET200SP module which are specified in the file you have attached. 

The best solution is to use a TM count module, this card counts independently from your program cycle time and enables the use of the HSC.

Yes that is the only option you have to count with an HF module. Be sure to check if the counting is 100% correct and if the position is correct also. If not you should really consider a technology module.
