danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 1/9/2026 Posts: 1209 Rating: (222)	- The handheld infrared programmer can be used on any MultiRanger - Siemens' Simatic PDM with a serial RS-232 modem and cable and the correct 'driver' can be used on old or new MultiRangers. Same with PDM with a serial RS-485 modem and cable. - Dolphin was a Windows program developed by Milltronics and reluctantly used by Siemens until 6-7 (?) years ago. It uses an RS-232 connection. Its use can not be guaranteed on newer MultiRangers because of firmware changes for which Dolphin has not been updated. I am not sure what Dolphin's status is with Siemens at this time. It might still be available from a distributor. The newest version MultiRanger (from Jan 2016 with the 4 button (4 arrow) HMI) probably does not need a 'program' because - the configuration is not Pxxx parameter based, it is spoken language oriented. - the HMI display can show an echo profile
