Hi Everybody,

I am a newbee for ladder programming. I am almost completed my first S7 1500 ladder logic programming.

I have used several GRAPH function blocks in my program to control a machine.

Is there a way to pause the sequential control?

In case operator of the machine want to pause the sequence?

I can stop and initialize the sequence. But i could not find any way to pause it.

I use TIA Portal V13 by the way with s7 1500 cpu.

As I learned for manual mode I need to do the following:

The sequential control activates the step displayed at the S_NO output parameter
if a positive edge occurs at the S_ON parameter. The step displayed at the
S_NO parameter is deactivated by a positive edge at the S_OFF parameter. You
can define a special step using the S_SEL parameter. You can switch to the previous
step (in the direction of smaller step numbers) using the S_PREV parameter
and to the subsequent step using S_NEXT.

But this needs s_next and s_on positive edges for every step, which is extra for automatic mode.

I need a pause button for a automatic mode (SW_AUTO). Whenever operator wants to stop sequence, he or she push the button, then when he or she wants to proceed, pushes the button again.

Any idea will be a life saver.

Sorry, but if you do not like to read my posts and try the given solutions, I am not able to help you anymore.

Perhaps somebody else is more patience?

Also another idea:

PAUSE: Switch to Manual mode

PAUSE FINISH: Switch back to automatic mode.

When I use inhibit flag, I would not be able to pause till the step end. What if I want to pause in the middle of a step.

Hi "IBN-Service",

Auto and Manual mode is not working.

I configured a timer as action in step and I tried various options like mode change, Turning ON Halt bit, Turning ON halt time bit but it just show the values pause but when I remove my pause, it has already elapsed the pause time. For ex. If I configure 10 minutes of timer and I pause it at 5th minute and keep it paused for 2 more minutes and then release, it then jumps to timer value as 7 minutes passed.

Even I tried calling another FC in the step but still no success. How to Halt the step with pause to the program scanning and keeping the things in pause mode and to get them back where ever they were paused??
