Hi, I have a poor knowledgement about LAN. This lets me flying in Logo's network programs. I have read Logo manuals and posts in this Forum. I would like to know if I am in a right way or not. The figure attached helps what I am talking about. At a moment my concepts are: A. LAN WITHOUT LOGO 1. A LAN has a server with a DNS. The PC's work under the server "DNS mask", a gateway and a IP addrress. 2. The PC's IP address must be different: exclusive IP address for each PC. 3. A same gateway address creates groups of communications (PC's and printers for example). 4. It is possible to create more than one gateway in the LAN. B. TWO LOGO's IN A LAN 5. The Logo's network must be create with the Logo SoftComfort, which automatically creates the mask, gateway and IP address. These addresses can not be modifided. Exception to the IP address (last number - 192.168.0.3 to 192.168.0.5 for example). 6. The network created is a virtual network, inside the existing LAN with your own DNS 255.255.255.0. 7. When conected in physical points of the LAN, the Logos won´t be in conflit with the LAN server that has its DNS 255.123.456.7. 8. The Logo's can work as indenpedent mode, máster/master or master/slave. 9. Using a point of a LAN it is possible to monitor and control the Logo's using a PC with a Logo SoftComfort. For this it is enough to order to looking for and find devices. 10. It is possible to do the same of iten 9 without any Network Project. The devices will appears in the Logo Soft Comfort as unknow devices. Arranging the settings, it is possible to upload programs. A password has to be knowed, if the devices are protected.
