How to configure S7-1200 in PCS7

arunpremraj2007 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi i want to know whether i can configure S7-1200 in PCS7 8.1 i am trying to establish communication between S7-400 and S7-1200 by usng PCS7. If there is a way to do this please help. If this query is raised before share me the link. I know this is possible with TIA portal i just want to know if it can be done in PCS7.. Thankyou.

nussbaum Posts: 111 Rating: (16)	Hello arunpremaraj2007, perhaps this entry might help you: 49740087 A direct use of the S7-1200 CPU like the CPU 400 isn't possible in PCS 7. The S7-1200 controller does not belong to the SIMATIC PCS7 7 system components. You must use OPEN OS.

The 1200 controller logic cannot be programmed in PCS 7 (this you probably already knew, and is not the issue). I have done this with Profibus in the past. Where in my S7400 HW Config, I use the S7-1200 Profibus GSD and pass the data back and forth. I have done this on 2 different occasions successfully. I have also done Profinet from S7400 to S7-1500, albeit not redundantly. Likely this is also possible for the S7-1200. Good luck

arunpremraj2007 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	thank you for the reply I understand I cannot use pcs7 to config s7-1200 i tried creating an unspecified connection between the two controller and communication block sfb14 sfb15 is downloaded in s7-400 by this i am able to communicate between those two.

I config the s7-400 with communication blocks and created two DB's like read and write, the same DB is created in s7-1200 . Now i am able to read and write and from s7-400
