I have a Y axis that can be jogged +/- slow or fast and it does just fine. However when I go to home the machine it goes through and homes all axis but when it starts to home the Y axis I get a channel 1 block N56000 Y_software limit switch- fault. By watching the axis diagnostic screen I see the pos meas sys 1, 2 and posn setpoint all 3 immediately jump to -9301.582 but axis does not move.

Any ideas?

Is Y axis active feedback on measuring system 2? 

Is Y axis scale is absolute or incremental type?

Have you replaced Y axis scale recently?  After replacement of scale, have you reconfigured it?

yes we had replaced scale recently. Problem found was air purge not working all the time allowing coolant/ debris to interfere.
