Hello guys:

I need connect an old 840Dsl (solution line, I suppose) and a new S7-1200 (with a CM 1242-5 module) in a new profibus network.

I already know profibus networks between 840D powerline and S7-300. Let me ask you the following  questions:

1) Do I need some update files (like gsd files from CM1242-5 and from 840Dsl) ?

2) Do I need additional interface modules in Sinumerik 840Dsl hardware ?

3) If I don´t need any additional interface module in 840Dsl, can I use X136 MPI/DP port (configured as DP, and in this way I don´t have to touch old profibus network in X126 DP port) ?

Why you want to connect S7-1200 PLC when with system you can have in built PLC CPU? 

Hi I want to do a profibus connection between 840D and S7-1200 too, Do you do this connection?
