Hello!

I have communication problem with PC ADAPTER USB A2 (6GK1 571-0AB00-0AA0) connecting it to PC. It is installed from CD, but without result. OS can't see it.

OS: Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.

PC Adapter was OK, when I had used it with STEP7, because driver USB embedded to it.

But then I've deleted all SIEMENS software from PC before.

Now I need to use Adapter in virtual OS (VMware). But it isn't recognized even by host system, on my PC. I don't want to install STEP7. I want my system recognized PC Adapter USB A2, in order to use then in Virtual OS. If I install STEP7 on my host, it will grab Adapter and it won't be avaliable on the virtual one.

Why is it impossible to install driver from CD? why system can't see adapter?

p.s. Сhoosing driver manually is going wrong. I also can't choose it from CD because there is the installation file there not straight driver.

of you use VM you need no Step7 or driver on the host system.

Plug the adapter on a usb 2.0 port of the host and then on the VM open the menu removable devices and connect the Adapter to the VM (Disconnect from host).

Is in the VM  Step7 installed or not?
If not for whaty you will use the adapter here?

For sure STEP7 is installed.

When I plug Adapter to USB it appears on VMware. But when I push button to disconnect adapter from host and connect to Virtual OS the next message appears:

wjich Host OS ?
Which VM Version?
Which USB Port (2.0, 3.0?)

This message pop up if the device is on a USB 3.0 Port and the Host/VM support no USB 3.0 for Virtualisation.

OS Host: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

It was USB 3.0 , then I chose USB2.0, nothing changed with messages.

Maybe, should I choose compatibility with USB2.0 mode  in BIOS ?

Do you use a HW USB 2.0 Port on the Host System or not?

Actually it works but on the notebook in VMware.. (it works but in diagnostics 0x313 error, but it is not this topic).

But on the desktop PC it doesn't

It is connected to USB host.

Driver error appears when I connect it to VM and disconnect from the Host as earlier on the screenshot.

I solved problem connecting to PLC trough my Adapter USB + Probibus connector RS485 (+ PG plug - female socket) + cable RS485 male both, the connector terminate resistor ON.
