I have the same problem. I try to backup a TP177A via "PC ADAPTER USB A2" cable and by using  ProSave ver7.4.6.0 and does not work.I set the ProSave to MPI/DP address 1, but does not communicate with TP177A. The TP177A is in transfer mode.

Any suggestions?

I already have read this post and done everything that says but with no luck. It is not clear to me, is the USB A2 adapter the appropriate cable for data transfer between a PC and a TP177A, or not?

Finally i managed to backup the TP177A via the PC adapter USB A2 cable.

I had to set the Pc adapter to MPI mode , instead of AUTO which is the default setting.

Hello, I'm having the same problema. Where did you change the PC adapter to MPI mode?

In Simatic Manager: Options > Set PG/PC Interface

In TIA Portal: Online access > Right click on "PC Adapter [xxxx]" > Properties

Hello, I have Tia Portal and already configure the USB adapter to MPI, but I don't have the original project from the TP177A.

I'm using ProSave v14 to do a backup and restore it into a new TP177A.

Attached is the set up that I made in Prosave General Tab.

In the TP177A  The Channel 2 is set to MPI. Remote control and Enable Channel are selected (already try without remote control selected). Adress is set to 1 and Baudrate=187,5 kB.

But when I press the StartBackup button I got the following message:

"No connection could be established. Please verify your settings, interfaces, cables, device type etc.
"

Yes, I have the Panel in transfer mode and nothing. I will buy a USB-PPI cable and when it arrive I will try with it.

I was able to do it with the USB-PPI cable (6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0)
