If yes, you can communicate with the S5 via TCP/IP and node-red on IOT2040 side. If not you have to communicate via RS232. Could be more complicated with the S5, but should be possible. I have googled short time, it seems that you need a converter cable that you can connect the S5 to "regular" RS232 like present in the IOT2040.

M346 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Apparently the S5 has special RS232 levels (TTY). I have found an adapter http://www.ebay.de/itm/TTY-Programmierkabel-USB-oder-RS232-fuer-Simatic-S5-PC-/160977326188 which converts regular RS232 to TTY (S5 needed). I think the one with USB will not work on the IOT2000 because there is no linux driver, but probably the RS232 one will work. The question is, if this would be enough to get it running. Maybe you can also post in the S5 forum here?
