I am having this issue. I have tried multiple options. Currently, we are using virtualbox and a TIA VM. In the VM settings I've set my local network adapter as "bridged connection" and I am successful at pinging the PLC within the VM. My PG/PC setting is set to TCIP1 Auto for both local machine AND inside VM. When I pull/Plug the Network cable, VM identifies the link down/up. Still, when I use "Update accessible device" on the left menu in TIA, I got the message: "No devices were found on the network"
 What could be the problem?

Hi,

this is not a problem of TIA.
With the NAT Mode of the VM you have a "virtual" Router between the Host and the VM.
In this case the Networktelegrams which used to find devices are blocked by the Router so you can't see devices from the other Network.

In this case you should use USB Ethernet Adapter inside the VM or a second Networkadapter in Bridged mode which is directly connected to the PLC.

 Thanks for the quick answer, unfortunately I am not autorized to do that. Besides, some of our colleagues are using VMPlayer and with same options, they managed to go online to PLCs without disabling the virus protection. 

Another issue is, I used to be able to connect to the PLC on another PC(Same VM, Same VirtualBox) I made same optional configuration(1 ethernet adapter bridged and directly connected to PLC) I think only difference is my IPSuite. Currently I am using 150.140.1.195(PLC), 150.140.1.201(Local), 150.140.1.191(Virtual adapter)Subnetmask is 255.255.0.0 for all. 

Any other advices?

-autodiscover devices doesn't work with NAT

- autodiscover devices works with bridged connection but you have to disable  your antivirus. (or creat rules to unblock discover telegrams

To connect directly (with IP address) to a plc/hmi, you can use NAT or Bridge connection and have to be on the same network (subnetmask)
