When i try to download the program to a GDB181.1E/KN VAV compact controller i recieve this error: "ETS tried to write a protected or a non existing memory block"

Anyone that know how to get past this? 

It is just on some of the VAV controllers this error appears..

Most probably the actuators have different versions and the ones that are not working do not correspond with the ETS device profile version. See table attached from the datasheet p. 2 'Software versions'.

The different device profiles contain a different amount of parameters due to changes. When you are using the wrong device profile, ETS is trying to write to a storage area that does not exist on the actuator.

You can find the actuator version as follows:
- For version E (do not have a data matrix code yet): On the top right of the type plate after the production date (e.g. 110608E).
- For version F or newer (do have a data matrix code): On the type plate after the description '2PFS' (F or G).

You can find and change the device profile version as follows:
1. Right-click on the device in (e.g.) the topology window and select 'Properties'.
2. Select the 'Information' tab and you will see the current version.
3. Below select 'Change Application Program', change the setting and apply with 'ok'.

If i update the application program with the older version, does the grop adressening and link still be ok?
