wz1 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	HELLO After the upgrade we made to one of the production lines on our site i tried to install the TIA PORTAL v 15.1 to my desktop. Here is where the problem begins. First of all at the screen that appears when the installation begins initialization stops at 47%. Then the program asks me to choose the installation language.After this the installation program stops with the message: MSI File initialization failed:ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE Here the only option is to click "CANCEL" and the setup is terminated. I made some research and i think i know what is causing this problem, with the use of the line msiexec /i %1 Where "%1" is the name of the file you want to install. The file we want to install here is TIAP_SIMATIC32.msi I did not expect the installation to start here however it gave me a very strange message. Cannot access path: \\Mywag320n\hdd_1_2\Pictures\Pictures The same path appears in the logfile of the setup LOGFILE name: ADS_SIA_Sequence_TIAP_SIMATIC32.msi The line is: MSI (c) (90:90) [12:34:27:559]: SHELL32::SHGetFolderPath returned: \\Mywag320n\hdd_1_2\Pictures\Pictures Mywag320n was the name of an external disk drive which some years ago i used as a Network disk.I do own this external dive but i am not using it as a network drive anymore. I think there is something in the registry of Windows(from older installations) that is causing this problem but i was not able to find it. Do you have any suggestions?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from MSI file initialization failed: ERROR_OPEN_FAILED.

The installation of V15.1 should work with the normal setup without using any commandline. Do the install with Admin rights and with disabled Anti virus Software. Which Operation System do you use (in case of Win10 which build number)? Bye Murof

wz1 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello My friend Murof to response to your question i am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 and i have tried everything that you suggest but nothing worked for me. So i used the "InstEd" program to analyse the TIAP_SIMATIC32.msi file. I found in the "Tables"- "Directory" - MyPicturesFolder.I tried to change the target directory however the problem was not solved. As a last resort i deleted MyPicturesFolder from the "Directory" and the program installation proceeded without any other problem. Now TIA Portal is working normally. Thank you for your response to my question.

After transferring the folder to the "C" drive, by default, the installation went without problems!
