I'm trying to expand safety system in lathe with 828D system.

I need extra safety signals, so i brought the TM54F and wired it.

After modification of machine topology configuration, module is configured fine, and communicated with control.

Regarding to Safety integrated manual (6FC5397-3EP40-5BA3), next step is activating the commisioning mode, (page 49).

I selected "Setup-up" mode area, pressed forward key ">", but I can't see "Safety" button.

In place when this button should be, i see gray, inactive place...

Does Safety integrated needs to be extra enabled somewhere? (machine data for example)

I ordered license, because i need to use extended safety function SLS for 2 axes and SOS for spindle.

But i don't receive this license yet.

According to manual, for basic safety functions (STO for example) license is not needed, so until i will receive license i want to test basic functions and configure TM module.

I don't have in topology view any settings for type of TM54F, see attached image.

How to setup TM54F as safety unit?

The manual you list in your original post is only suited for SW version 4.7 . The onboard safety commissioning support locally on the PPU increased rapidly as of 4.7 and so many of the icons you are expecting to see may not be supported on V4.4. You will need to work with a manual more suited to your system software version of V4.4.

Ok, so as I understand, having SW version 4.4, configuration of TM54F must be done using STARTER.

Correct me if I wrong.

I tried to do this, but in my version of STARTER (5.3.0.3) I don't have S120 combidrive on list.

I see only CU310 and CU320 control units. Which type of drive i must select during making new project?

Maybe STARTER needs to be upgraded?

I would recommend installing the latest version of Starter as best practice anyway and also select the optional Sinumerik SSP during installation.

You can then upload the existing machines drive configuration and topology within Starter and modify from there.
