S7-1200/1500 PLC to SQL

Grantek-TCB Advanced Member Joined: 8/20/2018 Last visit: 12/17/2025 Posts: 10 Rating: (1)	Looking for the best Siemens solution to read/write from an S7-1200 PLC to an MSSQL2016 database. I will have an HMI in this project but am hoping to use a Basic/Comfort panel. Option to move to a WinCC Advanced PC Panel if that's the best option to connect SQL. Our application needs to constantly check a flag for database change and then download/update a list of barcodes (strings) to the PLC. It also needs to post regular status data (OEE data) from PLC to SQL at a regular interval. The options I've researched so far listed below. Let me know if there's anything else. From Siemens: Siemens Industrial Data Bridge VBA code using WinCC Advanced Simatic ODK 1500S SQL Driver and 3rd party options: SQL4Automation PLC2SQL PDSql Library (PLCSQLdirect)
