firmware update s7-318-2 cpu

diogo.obpa Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	hi everyone ! i've been asked to connect a profibus flow meter to a profibus network. Having the gsd file of the flow meter, i've modified my hardware in step7 to reflect that change. however when i've downloaded the hardware to the cpu, it started to blink (error mode)...i've only managed to solve the problem by removing the battery and reset the cpu...then i've downloaded the project again but without the flow meter and it worked perfectly. the cpu is a s7-318-2 order number 6ES7 318-2AJ00-0AB0 firmware version 1.1 i think that what happened might be due to the firmware version, so i wonder how can i update the cpu firmware and what should be the firmware version... thanks in advanced, Diogo

GrzegorzG Posts: 63 Rating: (19)	I've faced similar problems for a few times, especially with older CPU types and new versions of Step7. They can be typically solved by modification of gsd file. I also think that you should do a firmware update of CPU up to version 3.0.1. If you want to get some help, you have to upload contents of CPU diagnostic buffer and let us know type of flowmeter and used gsd file.
