Which is Siemens motor?

Please check cable continuty between motor encoder to Sinamics drive. 

You replaced the Drive-CLiQ™ cable between the motor and VFD with a Profinet cable?

As strange as it may sound, I ran across a similar type of problem within the last couple of years.

Ended up opening up the motor connection box only to discover the Drive-CLiQ™ wiring was connected through terminals, and a couple of the terminals had worked loose over time.

Crimped on ferrules, tightened up the terminals, and have not heard another word about random faults since.

I will not go through all the things we looked at before discovering the root case.

but that was the first thing I had done.

I even replaced the profinet cable which makes the connection between the motor and the variator with a new cable, but the problem still persisted.

Is the drive-cliq (green) cable between the motor and control unit / motor module routed near any high voltage or high current cabling, or in plastic wire ducting or tubing?  Or another way of saying it, does the wiring of the drive-cliq cable meet Siemens installation requirements for that cable?

If you do not know the answer immediately, you need to look up the requirements in the S120 documentation / manuals appropriate for your hardware and check it from end to end for a parallel high voltage (maybe even unshielded) cable too close to the green cable.

If this is the only DriveCliq cable you've seen, don't worry, we have all seen our first drive-cliq cable and not known all the routing rules / tips / tricks.

Because this is a new motor, I would contact Siemens for additional troubleshooting support, and at the very least get the problem documented before the motor warranty expires.

There are so many strange things that _can_ (but rarely) come up with commissioning drive-cliq motors.  Getting Siemens support involved ASAP is important to protect your investment in the new system.

They might ask you to do things like: install a specific type of temperature probe across the temperature sensor terminals inside the motor connection box to verify the drive is accepting the signal correctly; measure value(s) at the motor connection box like temperature sensor to ground, and so on.  They also might even be aware that specific motor has a problem with that specific drive (and firmware version) and offer a work-around.

If I understand you correctly in relation to the connecting cable between the motor and the drive, it is a green cable with the two ends of the RJ45 connectors which is originally used with the machine in its proper functioning.

so, this is the same kind of cable we have in stock and i used to replace the original cable.

for the tightening of the motor terminals, i will say that all the terminals are tight because it is a new motor that we have installed.

For the connection box, I actually meant the drive-cliq wiring *inside* the motor connection box, not the actual motor power leads. 

If the (temperature sensor) leads are attached to certain types of devices, they will not use ferrules, and might not even use terminals and instead solder / crimp right to the motor (panel-mount) side of the DriveCliq (green) connector.

If those connections were damaged during final assembly at the motor manufacturing facility, or vibrated loose en route, or they left a few stray strands that sometimes touch metal, it's hard to know without looking really closely or measuring things while it's running.

Monitoring the motor temperature using Starter, creating a trace anytime the temperature gets close to a limit, with a 2-second pre-trigger, as well as actual motor speed & torque, and auto-retriggering after it finishes a trace will give you at least 2 seconds of what happened right before the motor faulted.

You can then see if the temperature fault is real, or the temperature sensor / wiring / connections are having problems.  Siemens support can guide you best.
