Alarms Time Stamps in WinCC [PCS7 V7.0 SP1]

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi all, Have bit of problem with alarms in WinCC (PCS7 V7.0 SP1). The PC Time Zone is [GMT +5.30]. With this, when ever we get an alarm, the time stamp is 5.30 Hrs ahead of current time.[Ex:- If we get an alarm at 12.10, then it gets logged at 17.40 ]. Only Operation Alarms are getting logged correctly and rest all 5.30 Hrs ahead. Then we changed the WinCC--> Computer--> Properties--> Timedisplay in runtime as "Coordinated Universla Time [UTC]. After this, all went ok. Incoming, Acknowledge, Journal & Process are ok. Now Operation Alarms are logged -5.30 hours when compared to actual time. When we opened @AlarmOperation.PDL, the time base for alarm window was "Apply Project Settings". Upon changing this to "Local Time Zone", Operation Alarms are getting logged correctly. Can any one let me know why only for Operation Alarms, the time zone should be "local zone" but for rest of @alarm........pdl it is "Apply Project Settings". Regards Nil

In a PCS 7 plant your CPU should be set up as time slave and on the CP card it should have the "Activate SIMATIC time-of-day synchronization". If you go online on your CPU the time shall be UTC time. The server will detect the alarms and store them in alarm logging with this time stamp. Then when you display them on your server / client they will be displayed with UTC time +/- the time difference you have set in your Windows settings. It sounds to me that your CPU has your +5h time, and therefore the time on the messages will be 5+5h. The reason why operator messages are displayed correctly is because they are created by the Client / server and thus the server gets the correct time stamp. 1. Check the time of your CPU 2. If it is incorrect, check that the CPU is slave, CP card has SIMATIC time of day synchronization active and check that the servers are set up as masters on the "Synchronization via System Bus". Regards Runis Hello, i dont know you available now, but i have same problem, and have 2 cp (CP-443), in one CP when i run NCM S7 diagnostic > Time of Day result is here: Forward time of day fram at From LAN to station. Mode of forwarding time of Day at Simatic mode. but in second cp result is different. Forward time of day fram at OFF. Mode of forwarding time of Day is not visible. how can i change setting in second CP?
