smiffy Platinum Member Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 1/8/2026 Posts: 1561 Rating: (540)	The only possibility I can see is to double click on the FB126 (FM_CNT) block in your blocks folder. You will receive a messge saying that the block is write protected. Click OK. You will not see any of the code as it is protected, but you will be able to see the interface parameters. These have descriptions (in German). This might give you some clue as to what they do. You can do the same with the instance data block associated with the FB126 (in your case DB126). Without access to the code, it will be very difficult to say exactly what the purpose of the data within the instance data block.

Now, if I open the instance data block associated with the FB126 (DB126), all row are "stats" declaration again without any comments. Ref. "PNIODiag_V1_7.exe". It may be a better solution, if someone can give me the bit addressing used in the WinCC flexible example show in Entry ID: 26996747. Regards LaraCroft

Attached is the information from my system. The pdf shows the structure of the instance DB. The 3 gif files show the in, out and inout parameters for FB126. Attachment FB126.zip (1366 Downloads)

Anchobi Posts: 139 Rating: (25)	I agree with you Lara it would have been nice of the developers of that block to have written the block in a similar way that the FM350 blocks are given. i.e. rather than using a protected FB make it an FC and releasea UDT so that you must make your own data blockwhich inherently becomessymbolically defined and enter the datablock number as an input into the FC. Which is much more useful for everyone rather than requiring people to reverse engineer the WinCC flexible to determine what bits are useful then to use in your program without symbols. Anyway, the FB126 predominantly uses the following SFCs to get the information anyway. SFC51 SFC13 and a few others as well ( i haven't listed them all) SFC5 SFC70 SFC71 SFC49 So if you are after a more complete and tidy looking solution I would recommend that you look into using some of these and other SFCs to extract your own diagnostics. Besides if you look at the size of FB126, its kind of big memory wise...

The Simatic system does this a lot, using same block number for different blocks. Take FC60 for instance it can be:- CMP_R in ELEMENTA AG_LRECV in Simatic_Net_CP LOC_TIME in misc. blocks of standard library This makes it a nightmare when writing your own blocks due to block number clashes. A&D should have co-ordinated the block number allocation a little better. I understand your frustration with the Simatic system and the lack of information it is possible to obtain. I have spent the last year and a half writing my own modbus interface block in SCL, and it was painful at times trying to get round all the issues that Simatic kept throwing at me. The lack of and difficulty in finding information was also a problem. Hope things work out for you.

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (1000)	In the next few days, I will realease a function to filter the important station data aut of the global-DB of FB126 "PNIODIAG" and save it in a bitlist, equal to the old FC125 / FB125 to make it easyfind out a disturbed slave or device of severalprofinet and profibus systems. It still will be necessary to call "PNIODIAG" FB126 to provide the global-DB (default DB200) in V1.8x, but find out the effected station will be much more easy, also HMI - diagnostic screens can be done easily and just need very few tags and no multiplex.
