MIcrowin cannot open COM1

g_barin Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello guys ... I have a PC where I have installed microwin 4 sp6 . The PC has a serial door : COM1 . When I try to communicate with a cpu s7-200 , with the serial cable PPI and its settings PG/PC, appears an error window with: the door cannot be open or is used from an other application . The same one microwin in others 2 PC works fine , with the same serial cable PPI and the same settings PG/PC ..... The door COM1 of the PC works fine , i'm sure , because i have tried with the simatic manager, and its serial cable MPI , and its settings PG/PC and i see a cpu 300 type . Any help ?

The COM interface is blocked by another software. The COM interface is blocked by another application. 1. Go in Control panel and compare settings on COM1 port from two different PC. Open the "Device Manager" via "Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware". Here, under "Ports (COM & LPT)", you will find the Communications Port (COM1) Check and compare this settings - http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12413003 2. This PC station could be already assinged to have active connection trough MPI... Hope this will helps. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

I found a strange thing in sistem , hardware , on the list of things there is not the icon SIMATIC NET , is it the problem ? I try to uninstall microwin and install again but no change . I have antivirus F-secure allways active is it a problem ? On the laptop where microwin is ok , i found the icon SIMATIC NET and ( when i press + for expand ) Siemens PC/PPI Cable .

Eem Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear g_barin, I'm having a similar problem witha proDave application that won't communicate via a PPI (no USB) interface with a S7 200 PLC. I'm also missing the 'Simatic Net > Siemens PPI cable' icon in the device manager (see attachment) and I believe this might be the problem. Have you ever solved this isseu?
