S7 Analog Input Issues

Gatty Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	hey guys, I will try to keep this as brief as possible. In Brief I am using a 6Es& 134-4GB52-0AB0. I have a Strain Gauge which is outputting a 4-20mA signal. If I check the 4-20mA output (from the Strain Gauge Card) I am reading around 7.9mA (which is correct). If I simulate 4-20mA from the card to the PLC (without the strain gauge connected of course) I am can scale through the range with no issue. If I connect the PLC to the Strain Gauge output card, I recieve nothing. The Problem (Maybe): The Analog Input Card is outputting 24V. The Strain Gauge card is also outputting a voltage, 13.8V. I assume the issue is due to the two different power sources. I have contacted the manufacturer to see if the 13.8V output voltage can be turned off from the card with no luck. My question to anyone who would like to help is; Is it possible to disable the 24V output from the S7 Anolog Input card? Any other theries are welcome. Thanks for you time.

Simaticus Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Dear Gatty, the module 6ES7 134-4GB52-0AB0 you selected is used to connect to tow wire transmitters; that means ths transmitter will be supplied by the analog module. As your transmitter / sensor provides its own supply you either have to switch off the supply of your sensor or you have to select another analog module 6ES7 134-4GB62-0AB0 designed ti use four wire transmitter / sensors. The 6ES7134-4GB52-0AB0 card is designed for passive 2 wire sensor (device) with supplying. Before changing to another card type try connectStrain Gauge device by following description: The plus (+) wire ofStrain Gauge device to terminal number "2" of analog card andminus (-) wire of Strain Gauge device to terminal number "3". The terminal number "1" left not used. I had similar problems. Try it, You`ll see. Vitas
