Madda Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello!, Before to write this thread i tried to look some pages ago, but i didnt found anything of help, so.. : I've started to useS7 5.4 for work (i have few experience in plc programming), and my problem is to find a way to convertINTvalueinside a db (example DBXX) into CHAR format , and put them into another DBYY [DBXX Int => Conv => DBYY] I've tryed to have a look at FC16 but i didnt find anything of help ; any suggestion will be appreciated! Gio

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Well, char is just symbol representation of byte (another form, like hexadecimal or binary or decimal) - so generally if your INT is in permitted range (0-255 unsigned) then L DB1.DBW0 // INT variable inside DB T DB2.DBB10 // CHAR variable inside DB would produce result required. If you need help on another programming language - please specify that language.

If so you should first convert your INT to BCD, and then treat digit by digit, adding 48 to get an Ascii format. 　 L 12//YourINT value ITB T #tWord //Local temp Word // L #tWord L W#16#F AW L B#16#30 +I T #tChar_1 // L #tWord L W#16#F0 AW SRW 4 L B#16#30 +I T #tChar_10 I hope this helps!
