Reset hmi user password

Because when someone type a wrong password five times, the user concerned is assigned to the "Unauthorized" group. Regards.

I know in Winccflex 2008 SP2 Software but I am not able to find this in TIA V11 Software. 1 - Set the number of attempts to "zero", so desactivate this "feature". Waiting for your reply. Jens_app Gold Member Joined: 1/5/2011 Last visit: 3/13/2025 Posts: 815 Rating: (123)	Hi, I have had bad experiences with thisfeature also, customers who try to guess the password and fail to loginmultiply times, which caused them to beassigned to theunauthorized group,which resulted in no other option then re-downloading the project to the HMI. Which is a pain in the ass if the customer is situated oversees or far away. I think it's not so great when we create a new projectthisfeature is standard enabled, Siemens should definitely look into that and put thisfeaturestandarddisabled (maybe they did in V12 or V13, can anyone verify this?).If they didn't I would suggest thatyou make it a habbit to disable it upon creating a new project. Let me add, if you really need this feature enabled: 1- I suggest youeither create an administrator account which is only known to the manufacturers of the software and create a users view, which would allow you to re-assign users, add and remove users and so on.. 2- Make sure the screen has easy re-download options, most comfort panels have this option. Usepack&go, provide the customer with this file,which would let the customer re-download the project with prosave. Kind regards, Jens
