if you compare MLFB of red and grey modules you will
see that there is only difference in last part.
That defines it is it red or grey. It is not possible
to order red ones anymore.

I have equipped TM 1703 ACP CP-6014
with SM-2541 which is old Protocol element and it
worked fine.

Also if you check old SAT manual you will se that Type Designation
is the same for both grey and red modules.

I the period from changing from red to grey they didn't release new order table
and I used to order the red ones but got grey ones and I was told only difference is color.

I am 100% sure that the red ones are the same as grey ones.

I see that you have PE-6400 and now they sell PE-6410 but in
ToolBOX II you will just use different firmware for PE 640x USIO65 and for PE_641x_USIO66.

When SIEMENS bought SAT all manual remained the same they just put SIEMENS logo.

You need SICAM TOOLBOX II.

Just for your info. It is not possible to upload existing configuration from device. You must have backup. If you want to make new configuration it is not a problem. You can initialize TM with your configuration.

when you upgrade from PE6400 to PE6410 you have to change the peripheral element in the system technique and overwrite the previous PE6400.

now when you overwrite it, immediately inside the process technique the signals linking will be erased and then you have to select TCIO^^ in all signals and then retransform.

if you are a learner I will suggest you to only replace the controller, from old one to new grey controller.

and let the PE6400 as it is. in this case you just need to overwrite CP6003 to CP6014 and the linking will not be disturbed.
