Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Import of a Technical Question of the User mint mint In one of our CNC machine with 840D control system Z axis is having absolute scale for direct feedbackand motor is also having absolute encoder.We are facing a problem that some times alarm 26020 alarm(axis Z encoder 2 hardware fault 00000004H during encoder initialization)and alarm 25100(axis Z measuring system switchover not possible)comes on the system.In this case the DB32.DBX1.6 isHIGH & DB32.DBX1.5is LOWbut still in service display neither measuring system 1 or measuring system 2 is green both are coming yellow. Machine is not able to run due to this problem.if we switch to motor encoder DB2.DBX1.5 is getting High and in service display measuring system 1 gets green colour. Pl. provide solution for this problem

These are the alarms that appear on the screen (until yesterday): -26020 (axis Y encoder 2 hardware fault 00000004H during encoder initialization) -25100(axis Y measuring system switchover not possible) Without any changes on the machine, today these are the alarms that appear on the screen: -26020 (axis Y encoder 2 hardware fault 00101000H during encoder initialization) (I think this codes means overvoltage and overcurrent according to the help on screen) -25100(axis Y measuring system switchover not possible) Best Regards M.Castaño

Mc70 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi I modified the Machine Data to start the machine without the linear scale for Y-axis, the machine starts up correctly. I dismounted the linear scale to clean it with compressed air, after that, i mounted again the linear scale and the machine start up correctly, i just had to reference the y-axis and now the machine is working properly. Abhijeet Kagale Advanced Member Joined: 5/13/2015 Last visit: 7/18/2025 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	hi, i am also having same alarm. i also bypassed the scale and run the machine with motor encoder. i opened the scale and cleaned and checked with PWM 20 with the help of Heidenhain engineer so they informed the the scale is ok. but when i put back to the machine same error. please find attached error. please let me know what to be done. need to replace the scale or do we have nay parameter to change. PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	In the attached snap, it shows, Y axis scale hardware fault. Please check the interfacing cable of scale to system. Probably scale might be ok, but problem could be with inetrfacing cable. Please check it.
