Problem with OP77B communication with S7-200 PLC

bijayananda.nayak Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I am new to Siemens system. Facing a problem regarding the OP77B Simatic Panel communication with PLC S7-200 through RS 232 cable. When connecting the panel from S7-200 the data showing on the OP-77B "####" mark. Kindly tell me step by step instructions to identify the problem.

Thatmust bethe problem, you should use MPI cable or Profibus cable with profibus connectors. Use the RS485 port on the panel. The 200 PLC has no RS232 port. Have a look at What should you watch out for when setting up a connection between S7-200 and SIMATIC Panels or WinCC flexible PC Runtime and what are the options? Regards, Marcjan

bijayananda.nayak Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	sorry i will correct myself. I am using the RS 485 port of the Simatic OP 77B panel. I cannot confirm the cable i am using because it is very old air dryer system and i do not have any manual with me. Most probably i think it is MPI cable.

So, i can not retrieve the data for the settings in S7-200 PLC. Is there any other way, Kindly suggest.

If you don't have it you must try to change the settings on the panel and see if there is some changes. the standard portsettings of a 200 are Adress2 and 187 KB, if your CPU has 2 ports , try the other port too. Are there any backups off the program, we could have a look at? Are there any messages like No CPU connected on the panel? Regards, Marcjan
