PID problem

Raffy Posts: 209 Rating: (2)	Hi guys, I am using a FB41 and FB43 to control a motor...it is a slow acting motor that changes the position of a lever...with this situation I've got a problem.....due to its slow actuation my PID controller overshoots (makes LMN = 100)....And this would make my system also overshoot and cannot reach its setpoint....I tried adjusting my TI and Td and also the proportional gain but it is really hard to make it stable.... What should be my techniques on getting the proper values of Ti and Td? Should I also adjust the FB43 parameters?? I'm using FB43 because I am controlling the motor which turns clockwise(raise) and counterclockwise(lower) and this would adjust theposition of the lever.... Could you please suggest tips and tricks on this matter? regards, Raffy

About combination of FB41, FB43 I can only add FB43 is only map an analog input (fed from FB41) to a binary actuator.The point is contrary to sliders the actator in this case should retain a OFF status when there is no signal from FB43.For that I can mention a HEATER. Raffy Posts: 209 Rating: (2)	Hi kampi, it's actually a three point setting....raise - off - lower..... then a sensor would mesuare the position........ Now this motor is very slow acting....so the I'm having a hard time setting the gain, integral time and diff time....so maybe you could suggest a technique to me on how to calibrate or determine its values...
