Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi. For WinCC Flexible PC RT, there is a selection of available screen resolutions. The maximum available is 1600x1200. The problem as I see is that there are many more screen resolutions in the monitors that are being offered on the market these days, and most of them are in "Wide" screen 16x9 aspect ratio, not 4x3 as is normal with PCs in the "old" days. I have seen for example: 1366x768 1440x900 1680x1080 1920x1200 Right now I have the problem that we want to show our HMI at an exhibition, and the screen is a large widescreen monitor (we want it to look nice of course). I can choosewindowed mode, but we dont want that. AndI can choose fullscreen 1280x1024, and then let the screen convert the screen resolution automatically to what it supports natively. However, in that case the aspect ratio is wrong (circles becomes ovals) and it generally looks awful. Is there a way to "trick" WinCC Flexible to accept other screen resolutions ? Will WinCC Flexible 2007 offer other screen resolutions? I expect this problem to be worse in the future with more and more "odd" screen sizes being offered. Best would be if it was simply possible to specify the screen size freely in pixels horisontally and vertically.

But right now i think that the only solution is to look hard for a monitor that allows you to configure the resolutions of wincc flexible. I now that this is not easy because i have been there looking and have found exactly the same problems you have related. Regards, Marques

So I took a dive into the help-files and it states clearly: Width and height of screen cannot be changed outside the offered resolutions. (tried adjusting width by script @ screen-loading) Size/res are fixed. Jeebs

At present time, todistinguish between enabled and disabled buttons, userhave to mouse over it and seek for presence or absence of small lightning bolt next to mouse arrow. This is inconvenient. Still I can't see anything happened in this area. Screen resolution for WinCCFlex runtime is still limited to a small number of predefined values, all in 4:3 aspect ratio. If it was hard back in 2007 to find a monitor that supports one of these resolutions, well, now, in 2010 it's almost impossible. Exactly as Jesper suggested. So, when can we expect to see a change? Or maybe there is a change, only I missed it somehow? Boti
