According to this press release: And this product description: https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/programmable-logic-controller/en/simatic-s7-controller/s7-1200/cpu/pages/default.aspx?HTTPS=REDIRThere should be some great new features, especially the trace function like on the S7-1500 and PLCSIM functionality. But I can't find any order information anywhere. And I can't find any further information than what is contained in the two pages above. Except for the obviously new member 1217C, will the CPU's with the V4.0 firmware then get a new order number? How do you distinguish between a V3.0 and V4.0 when ordering? The Automation Mall doesn't tell anything in the product specifications about firmware version. Will it be possible to upgrade a CPU from V3.0 to V4.0? Or is it new hardware like we had from V2.2 to V3.0? Does anybody know anything about release dates?

This is very good news. I think that the new firmware will come with the new TIA Portal V13. |
